Bedroom remodeling is a very popular thing to do. Many times the bedroom is outdated. When bedroom remodeling is performed on a house it can bring that area up to date. Flooring

Bedroom remodeling allows you to change the existing flooring. If you have carpet now we can remove it and install updated carpet and pad. Wood flooring can also be added with a bedroom remodeling project. Wood flooring is usually done in Oak and the width varies, 3 ¼” is probably the most popular. Some people prefer a more rustic look and will use heart pine or wide plank flooring.

Expanded Bedroom

Sometimes the existing house design allows for an expansion of the existing bedroom into a space next to it. If the wall is a load bearing wall then we have to add a structural beam to carry the load. If it is not load bearing we can just open up the wall. The electrical wiring has to be relocated also. When houses have four bedrooms upstairs with a finished bedroom in the basement we can eliminate one bedroom and expand the other two. This extra space makes a nice sitting area. The closet can be expanded as well. Most older homes have small closets. Today’s master bedrooms demand a larger master closet. We carry a custom closet system to finish off the closet with the greatest amount of use. We can install an island with drawers if there is enough room. Hanging rack for dresses and coats. Double racks for shirts and slacks. We install shelving for sweaters and folded shirts. Drawers for socks and under wear. There is also many accessories available like tie racks and jewelry bins.

Another option for a bedroom remodeling project is to add a fireplace to this extra space. This creates a cozy getaway for the master bedroom. We can place windows on each side of the fireplace. Several can lights in the ceiling are very functional as well.

Addition to existing bedroom

An addition to the existing space can create enough room to add a sitting area, hearth room or even increase the master closet. If the house is a two story the addition would more than likely include an extra room to the space below. Expanding the bedroom with a bedroom remodeling project can also bring much needed light into a dark bedroom. This could be a good place for some built-ins, shelves for books and maybe a T.V. cabinet beside a fireplace. Even an extra 4’ added on can make a room seem much larger.
